iKON is a highly popular South Korean boy band formed in 2015 by YG Entertainment, known for their impactful debut and chart-topping hits.Formed through the survival reality shows 'WIN: Who Is Next' (2013) and 'Mix & Match' (2014), iKON officially debuted on September 15, 2015. The group initially consisted of seven members: B.I (leader, rapper), Bobby (rapper), Jay (vocalist), Song (vocalist), DK (vocalist), Ju-ne (vocalist), and Chan (vocalist). They achieved massive success with their debut album 'Welcome Back', featuring hits like 'My Type' and 'Rhythm Ta'.Following leader B.I's departure in June 2019 amid controversy, the group continued as six members. After completing their exclusive contracts with YG Entertainment in December 2022, all six members signed with a new agency, 143 Entertainment, in 2023.

• The group's formation was highly publicized through intense survival shows, creating significant pre-debut hype and fan investment.
• iKON achieved the rare 'Monster Rookie' status, sweeping major new artist awards in 2015, including at the Melon Music Awards and Mnet Asian Music Awards.
• In June 2019, leader and primary songwriter B.I (Kim Han-bin) abruptly left the group and terminated his contract with YG Entertainment following allegations of illegal drug purchase investigations (which he admitted to attempting, though denied actual use). This caused a major upheaval and hiatus.
• The song 'Love Scenario' (2018) became a national phenomenon in South Korea, topping charts for weeks and winning Song of the Year at major award shows. Its popularity extended widely to children and schools.
• All members completed their mandatory South Korean military service between 2021 and 2023 (Bobby, Ju-ne, DK, Song) and are currently serving (Jay, Chan).
• In May 2023, all six members signed exclusive contracts with 143 Entertainment, marking a new chapter after leaving YG Entertainment.
