American power pop band known for witty lyrics, catchy melodies, and the hit single "Stacy's Mom".Formed in New York City in 1996 by songwriters Chris Collingwood (vocals) and Adam Schlesinger (bass). Released five studio albums between 1996 and 2011, achieving mainstream success with "Stacy's Mom" (2003). Won a Grammy nomination. Disbanded following Schlesinger's death in 2020.
