Fort Minor is the solo hip-hop side project of Mike Shinoda, best known as the co-founder, rapper, producer, and multi-instrumentalist of the rock band Linkin Park.Created by Mike Shinoda as an outlet for his hip-hop roots and collaborations outside Linkin Park. Debuted with the album 'The Rising Tied' in 2005. Went on a long hiatus after initial success before a surprise return in 2015.

• Fort Minor's debut single 'Remember the Name' (featuring Styles of Beyond and produced by Jay-Z) became a massive global hit, known for its iconic beat and lyrics breaking down success.
• The track 'Where'd You Go' (featuring Holly Brook and Jonah Matranga) was a major crossover hit, reaching #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earning a Grammy nomination, surprising many with its melodic focus.
• After intense touring and promotion for 'The Rising Tied', Shinoda put Fort Minor on hold to focus entirely on Linkin Park, leading to a nearly 10-year hiatus. He reactivated the project unexpectedly in 2015 with the single 'Welcome' and the EP 'Welcome'.
• The project served as a platform for Shinoda to collaborate with artists outside the rock genre, featuring rappers like Common, Lupe Fiasco, Black Thought (The Roots), and Celph Titled, as well as Styles of Beyond and vocalist Holly Brook.
