Formed on July 23, 2010, during the seventh season of The X Factor UK. Originally consisting of Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson. Released five studio albums between 2011-2015, all debuting at #1 on the UK Albums Chart. Won seven BRIT Awards and six Billboard Music Awards. Entered indefinite hiatus in 2016.
