American video game developer, programmer, composer, and internet personality, best known as the creator of the visual novel Doki Doki Literature Club!. Born in 1988, Dan Salvato gained widespread recognition for independently creating the psychological horror visual novel Doki Doki Literature Club! (DDLC) in 2017. He handled nearly all aspects of development, including programming, writing, and composing the soundtrack. Before DDLC, he was known in the Super Smash Bros. Melee modding community for creating the "20XX" training pack and Project Slippi, revolutionizing online play. He is the founder of Team Salvato.
