Marco Frisina - Italian Priest and Composer of Sacred Music
Italian Roman Catholic priest, composer, conductor, and prominent figure in contemporary sacred music.
Born in Rome, Frisina was ordained a priest in 1979. He studied composition at the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music and earned a doctorate in theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University. He served as Director of the Liturgical Office of the Vicariate of Rome and was the choir director of the Archbasilica of St. John Lateran. He is renowned for composing accessible liturgical music, often performed during major papal celebrations. He also composed film scores, notably for 'St. Rita' (2004) and 'St. Anthony' (2006). He led the Choir of the Diocese of Rome (Coro della Diocesi di Roma).
