Teresa Teng was a Taiwanese singer, renowned as one of the most influential and beloved Asian pop icons of the 20th century.Born in Taiwan, Teng achieved phenomenal fame across East and Southeast Asia, particularly in Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam. Her career spanned over three decades, producing timeless hits characterized by her sweet, crystal-clear voice. Despite her massive popularity, her career faced political complications, especially regarding performances in mainland China during the Cold War era. She tragically died from a severe asthma attack while on vacation in Thailand.
