Portugal. The Man is an American rock band known for their eclectic blend of psychedelic rock, alternative, indie, and electronic influences, achieving mainstream success with their hit "Feel It Still".Formed in Wasilla, Alaska in 2004 by childhood friends John Gourley (vocals, guitar) and Zach Carothers (bass, vocals).The band has released nine studio albums, evolving from experimental psychedelic rock to a more accessible, genre-blending sound.Achieved massive international success with the Grammy-winning single "Feel It Still" from their 2017 album "Woodstock".

• Despite the Grammy win and massive success of "Feel It Still", the band faced a copyright infringement lawsuit in 2018 over similarities to The Marvelettes' 1961 song "Please Mr. Postman". The lawsuit was dismissed in 2019.
• The band is deeply involved in social and environmental activism, often collaborating with Native American organizations and supporting causes like water protection and Indigenous rights.
• The unusual punctuation in their name (the period after "Portugal") is intentional. John Gourley has stated it stems from a conceptual idea of the band being like a man named Portugal.
