Francesco Paolo Tosti

Italian composer and singing teacher, renowned for his elegant and popular art songs (romances).Born in Ortona, Italy, Tosti studied at the Naples Conservatory. He moved to London in 1875, achieving immense success as a singing teacher to the British aristocracy and royalty, and later as a professor at the Royal Academy of Music. He was knighted in Italy and became a British citizen. His vast output consists almost entirely of songs, characterized by lyrical melodies and salon-style piano accompaniment.
