"Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika" was originally a Xhosa hymn by Enoch Sontonga, later combined with C.J. Langenhoven's Afrikaans poem "Die Stem van Suid-Afrika" to form South Africa's post-apartheid national anthem in 1997.
