Who's behind the notes? Discover Georg Friedrich Händel: The Baroque Master
Originally composed by Handel for harpsichord around 1703-1706, this Passacaglia was reimagined by Norwegian composer Johan Halvorsen in 1894 as a virtuosic duo for violin and viola. Halvorsen's arrangement preserves Handel's Baroque ground bass structure while infusing it with Romantic-era technical brilliance, creating one of the most celebrated chamber works for string duo.
