Johann Sebastian Bach - Eilt, ihr Stunden, kommt herbei, BWV 30 No. 10

Johann Sebastian Bach's "Angenehmes Wiederau" (BWV 30a) is a secular cantata composed in 1737. It was written for the 11th birthday of Friedrich August, the son of Count Heinrich von Brühl, a Saxon statesman. This cantata is also known as the "Birthday Cantata" and was performed in the Brühl Palace in Leipzig.

One interesting fact is that Bach reused some of the music from this secular cantata in his later sacred compositions. Parts of the music were incorporated into the "Gratias Agimus Tibi" movement of his Mass in B Minor (BWV 232).

This demonstrates Bach's resourcefulness in repurposing his own compositions for different occasions and contexts. It also showcases his ability to create intricate and beautiful musical works regardless of whether they were intended for secular or sacred settings.
