Who's behind the notes? Discover Joe Dassin: The Franco-American Voice of Chanson
"Aux Champs Elysées" is one of the most iconic French songs of the 20th century, performed by the famous French-American singer Joe Dassin. Released in 1969, it became an instant classic, celebrated for its cheerful melody and evocative lyrics praising the famous Parisian avenue. Interestingly, the song is actually a French adaptation of "Waterloo Road," a song by British composer Mike Deighan, which was itself inspired by an earlier Italian instrumental track.
