"The Red Army Is the Strongest", also known as "The Red Cavalry Song" or "White Army, Black Baron", is one of the most famous Soviet military marches. It was composed by Alexander Alexandrov, who later went on to compose the music for the National Anthem of the Soviet Union and its successor, the Russian National Anthem. The song was written during the Russian Civil War to boost the morale of the Red Army soldiers fighting against the White Movement, referred to in the lyrics as the "Black Baron" (Pyotr Wrangel).
