La fille aux cheveux de lin (The Girl with the Flaxen Hair) is the eighth piece in Debussy's first book of Préludes. This delicate, pastoral work is one of Debussy's most popular compositions, known for its simple, folk-like melody and gentle harmony that evokes the image of an innocent young girl. The title was inspired by a poem of the same name by Leconte de Lisle.
