Michel Angelo Grancini was an Italian Baroque composer and organist who worked primarily in Milan. His sacred compositions, including "Dulcis Christe," reflect the ornate polyphonic style characteristic of Italian church music in the post-Palestrina era. As organist at Milan Cathedral, Grancini would have been familiar with both traditional polyphony and newer concertato styles emerging in the early 17th century.
