Leoš Janáček - Sinfonietta

Leoš Janáček's Sinfonietta is one of his most famous orchestral works, renowned for its expansive fanfares and unusual instrumentation that features an augmented brass section. Composed in 1926, it was originally entitled "Military Sinfonietta" and was inspired by the composer's hearing a military band performance. The piece is in five movements and is characterized by its driving rhythms, modal harmonies, and nationalistic character, reflecting Janáček's Moravian roots and modernist style.
