Morning Mood is the first of four orchestral pieces in Edvard Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, Op. 46. Composed for Henrik Ibsen's 1876 play Peer Gynt, this piece depicts the sunrise in the Moroccan desert with its gentle flute melody and gradually building orchestration that creates a serene atmosphere. It has become one of the most recognizable classical works in popular culture.
