"Jesu, Corona Virginum" (Jesus, Crown of Virgins) is a traditional Latin hymn honoring the Virgin Mary and virgin saints. Lorenzo Perosi, a renowned Italian composer of sacred music and director of the Sistine Chapel Choir, is associated with this piece. The English translation was masterfully done by John Mason Neale, a foremost 19th-century translator of ancient hymns, who successfully maintained the original Latin meter, allowing it to be sung to the traditional plainchant melody.
