Morning Mood (Morgenstimmung) is the first of four movements from Edvard Grieg's Peer Gynt, Op. 23, written as incidental music for Henrik Ibsen's play of the same name. This beautiful piece depicts the sunrise in the Moroccan desert with its gentle melody and gradually increasing intensity, becoming one of Grieg's most recognizable compositions.
