  2. Venus' Rotation: A day on Venus (one full rotation on its axis) is longer than a year on Venus (one full orbit around the Sun). Venus rotates very slowly on its axis, taking about 243 Earth days, while it completes an orbit around the Sun in about 225 Earth days.

  3. Bananas Are Berries, but Strawberries Aren't: In botanical terms, bananas qualify as berries, while strawberries do not. Berries are defined as fleshy fruits produced from a single ovary, and bananas fit this description, whereas strawberries, despite their name, are considered aggregate fruits.

  4. The Eiffel Tower Can Grow Taller in Summer: Due to the expansion and contraction of the iron in response to temperature variations, the Eiffel Tower can grow and shrink by several inches. During hot summer days, the metal expands, causing the tower to be slightly taller.

  5. Octopuses Have Three Hearts: Most octopuses have three hearts. Two pump blood to the gills, while the third pumps it to the rest of the body. Additionally, blue-ringed octopuses have a neurotoxin that can be deadly to humans.

  7. The World's Largest Desert is Antarctica: While we typically associate deserts with hot, sandy environments, the largest desert on Earth is Antarctica. It receives very little precipitation, and its cold temperatures make it a polar desert.

  8. The Dot Over the Letter 'i' is Called a Tittle: The dot that appears over the lowercase letter 'i' and 'j' is called a tittle. It is a diacritic mark used in various languages and is often used to distinguish between different letterforms.

  9. The First Computer Programmer Was a Woman: Ada Lovelace, an English mathematician and writer, is considered the world's first computer programmer. In the 1840s, she wrote detailed instructions for Charles Babbage's Analytical Engine, making her the first to recognize that a machine could be used for more than just calculations.

  10. The Average Person Spends Six Months of Their Life Waiting for Red Lights to Turn Green: Studies suggest that the average person spends a significant amount of time waiting for traffic lights to change over the course of their lifetime. This highlights how everyday activities contribute to the overall time we spend in various pursuits.
