"Oh Tannenbaum" (O Christmas Tree) is a German Christmas carol based on a traditional folk song praising the evergreen fir tree's loyalty. The modern lyrics were adapted in 1824 by Leipzig organist Ernst Anschütz.
"O Tannenbaum" gained modern recognition through Vince Guaraldi's jazz interpretations in the 1965 "A Charlie Brown Christmas" soundtrack, blending traditional melodies with improvisational piano.
The melody was reused in socialist and workers' anthems, including the East German national anthem.
A medley arrangement featuring seven beloved Christmas classics including "Silent Night", "O Tannenbaum" and "Jingle Bells", traditionally performed during holiday celebrations. This compilation represents popular European and American Christmas musical traditions from 19th-20th centuries.
