"Le streghe" (The Witches) is one of Niccolò Paganini's most famous compositions, based on a theme from Süssmayr's ballet "Il noce di Benevento". The piece showcases Paganini's incredible virtuosity with its demanding technical passages, including left-hand pizzicato, rapid scales, and harmonics. The work was inspired by legends of witches gathering under a walnut tree near Benevento, Italy.
