Liszt's Grandes études de Paganini transcend mere technical exercises, transforming Paganini's violin virtuosity into revolutionary piano language. These six études, composed after attending Paganini's concerts, pushed piano technique to unprecedented levels, with the famous "La Campanella" (No. 3) becoming a hallmark of Romantic pianism. Liszt later simplified them as Études d'exécution transcendente d'après Paganini (S.140).
