Johann Sebastian Bach - Picander - Aria "Ich lebe, mein Herze, zu deinem Ergötzen": 2 All-in-One Collection

Easter cantata composed in Leipzig featuring an unusual dialogue structure where the tenor represents Jesus and the soprano responds as the believer. The work includes later additions of movements by Telemann and C.P.E. Bach, with rich instrumentation including trumpet and oboe d'amore.
This aria is the third movement of Bach's Easter cantata BWV 145. It features an expressive dialogue where the tenor (representing Jesus) sings "Ich lebe, mein Herze, zu deinem Ergötzen" (I live, my heart, for your delight), answered by the soprano as the believer. Unusually, Bach assigns Jesus' voice to a tenor instead of the typical bass. The music resembles secular cantata duets and may be a parody of an earlier work, with elegant violin obbligato and dance-like rhythms.
